Dinner Feeding (Day 20) Meal Part 1
Pizza, Sweet Potatoes and Applesauce
Last week, Baron started Bite Sessions. Basically, he starts with 5 small (1/4") bite-size pieces of food. His first Bite Session was with french fries. After his bite session, he has his regular feeding session (puree), then he has his drink session. Yes, this makes for a longer meal so I have omitted the feeding session and just posted the bite session and drink session for this meal. ;-)
Yesterday, I got to feed Baron! He did great!! I followed the protocol just like his feeder does.
YouTube has a limit of 10 mins for videos, so this feeding has a Part 1 and Part 2. Also, Part 1 does have an "incident" at the beginning...just a warning! ;-)
I apoligize for the quality of this one...I recorded the session from behind the window. I forgot to give them the video camera and this was a new skill (self feed).
Here is a video from today's lunch feeding session. Please don't feel you have to watch the whole thing! ;-) I will be posting lots of feeding sessions for Daddy. As you can see, he is on purees (chocolate pudding, yogurt, and strawberry applesauce for this feeding) and is required to take 20 bites. They do change up the food and as he progresses, they will increase quanity and textures. Enjoy!
On December 27th, 2010, Baron started the Intensive Inpatient Feeding Program at Kennedy Krieger Institute (KKI) in Baltimore, MD. So far, he is doing great! It's been almost a week and he already up to 60 bites (20 bites each meal) of pureed food.
I will be using this blog to keep friends and family updated on his progress.
Thank you and Happy New Year!
We got a Flip today, so look out! haha We hope this helps keep family and friends in the loop while we are here. New Year's Eve
